Ravens defensive lineman Dre'Mont Jones claimed the temperature played a bigger role for the Bengals than the Ravens, following Sunday’s matchup in Cincinnati—the coldest game in Ravens history. The elements did seem to affect the home team more than the visitors, as Baltimore recorded three sacks of Joe Burrow and two interceptions, including a fourth-quarter pick-six created by linebacker Kyle Van Noy and safety Alohi Gilman that sealed the shutout. The 24-0 victory underscored Jones’s point that the Bengals appeared unprepared for the brutal conditions.
“We were the ones who were prepared for the cold,” Jones remarked, citing the team’s website. “We didn’t even focus on the fact they hadn’t scored; we wanted to keep the pressure on and keep attacking.”
Looking ahead, Baltimore must sustain its momentum over the final three games. They host the Patriots in Week 16, then face road trips to Green Bay and Pittsburgh to close the season. The Week 18 matchup could decide the AFC North crown, depending on how the Ravens perform in the weeks ahead to ensure that contest remains meaningful.
