A higher perimeter fence is taking shape around the future Coco ride site at Disney California Adventure, signaling substantial progress. Recently, more tall posts were installed to extend the new boundary, following earlier reports about the initial posts along Disneyland Drive.
New Disney California Adventure Perimeter Fence
The Coco attraction will be built just behind the Incredicoaster, with its entrance positioned between Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier. Because this represents a modest expansion of the park, a perimeter fence is required. Disney filed a permit in December for a fence that will run about 727 feet in length and rise roughly 16 feet, including a gate.
Since our previous update, additional posts have appeared along the backstage road that runs off Disneyland Drive. This road is likely to be removed as part of the ride’s development. There’s a noticeable gap between one post and a nearby street light, which could indicate where a future backstage gate will be installed.
Construction began about a month ago, with team members clearing portions of the land. It appears the fence will be completed ahead of the actual ride construction, establishing the boundary before the groundwork starts.
Coco Ride Details
Disney has kept information about the Coco ride fairly sparse, but it’s known that guests will follow Miguel into the Land of the Dead, experience select pieces of the film’s iconic score, and encounter skeletal Audio-Animatronics figures. Concept art suggests the attraction will take the form of a boat ride.
