Raymond Loong Ng, a heart-driven innovator, is making waves in the tech industry at just 21 years old. His journey began with a simple idea: selling snacks to his schoolmates, which led to a successful entrepreneurial career. But it's his passion for accessibility tech that truly sets him apart.
Ng's story started with a realization about the convenience of buying snacks in bulk and packaging them for his classmates. Despite his teachers shutting down his initial venture, he found his calling in entrepreneurship and accessibility. Living between Vietnam and Singapore as a child of a cross-national marriage, Ng witnessed the challenges his friends faced in Vietnam, dropping out of school to support their families. This experience fueled his desire to expand access to education and create opportunities for others.
To turn his vision into reality, Ng enrolled in a diploma course in applied artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics at Singapore Polytechnic (SP). He recognized that tech, especially AI, was the key to scaling entrepreneurship and reaching a wider audience in the digital world. Through hackathons, Ng's entrepreneurial spirit flourished, and he co-founded two accessibility-focused start-ups.
One of his notable creations is Resumify, a social enterprise that utilizes AI to assist former offenders and individuals with disabilities in crafting resumes. Ng's experience in building an automated resume screening system for a human resource start-up inspired him to create a solution for those who might struggle with resume writing. Resumify has since received funding and has been trialed by almost 100 former convicts.
Another of Ng's ventures is Neural Drive, which focuses on creating portable headsets that track eye movements and brainwaves, enabling paralyzed patients to communicate. Inspired by a friend's neighbor with cerebral palsy, Ng aims to make communication technology more accessible and practical. Neural Drive has received significant funding through grants and competitions, and the product is currently undergoing clinical testing.
Despite his success, Ng remains dedicated to his initiatives, dedicating his free time to leading Singapore Youth AI, an organization that provides peer-to-peer AI education. He believes in the power of technology to improve lives and is committed to making a positive impact through his start-ups. Ng's dedication and passion make him a true heart-driven innovator, inspiring others to pursue their dreams and create meaningful change.
