The Future of Electric Mobility is Here: Circle K's Bold Move in Germany
In a move that has sparked excitement and curiosity, Circle K, the renowned Canadian convenience retailer, is revolutionizing the German charging landscape. Almost two years ago, Circle K acquired TotalEnergies' German petrol station network, and now, they're taking it to the next level.
The Expansion Unveiled
Circle K has expanded its charging infrastructure across Germany, bringing a total of 95 locations and 400 charging points to the country. This month, they've added an impressive six new charging hubs, with a focus on high-power charging (HPC) points. Four of these hubs are strategically located in the beautiful state of Bavaria, offering a network of fast and efficient charging options.
Charging Hubs Across Germany
In Eckental, Circle K has connected six HPC charging points, each capable of delivering up to an astonishing 400 kW, ensuring a quick recharge for electric vehicles. Similarly, Hohenlinden boasts eight charging points of the same capacity, providing a reliable and efficient charging experience. Illertissen sees an additional six fast-charging points, with two specifically designed for battery-electric trucks, a first for Circle K in Germany.
The largest of the new Bavarian hubs is in Nordendorf, featuring eleven fast-charging points, two of which are also dedicated to E-trucks. This hub is a testament to Circle K's commitment to providing comprehensive charging solutions.
Beyond Bavaria: A Nationwide Effort
Circle K's expansion isn't limited to Bavaria. In Wittlich, Rhineland-Palatinate, a new charging hub with four fast-charging points, each offering up to 400 kW, has been established. Additionally, Laucha in Saxony-Anhalt now boasts eight new charging points, with one specifically designed for E-trucks, delivering up to 175 kW.

While Circle K has been a pioneer in developing charging infrastructure for electric trucks in Scandinavia, their introduction of dedicated charging options for battery-electric commercial vehicles in Germany is a game-changer.
